Our newest class, Human Body Systems, is underway in the KCHS Project Lead the Way Biomedical Sciences Program!! Here's some pics & news from the first semester...
Human Body Systems students have been in the field the month of October gaining hands-on experience in their chosen career fields! They all had a great time and they reported that they learned so much and have gained a lot of insight into the fields they want to pursue. Hope to do this again in the spring!!!
In November, Principles of Biomedical Sciences students created brochures about diabetes. These “What to Expect” guides were in competition to be published in local doctors’ offices beginning in 2015! The winners are…..
Eve Lacefield & Jordan Collins with their “Type 1 Diabetes” brochure
Madison Gibson with her “Juvenile Diabetes” brochure
Brittany Branum & Tawney Nelson with their “Type 2 Diabetes” brochure
Faith Hinkle with her “Living with Diabetes at Any Age” brochure
We will begin fundraising for our white coats for the 2nd year Biomedical students during the month of January. White Coat Ceremony will be in February! Anyone who wants to donate or who has any ideas for fundraising, let Mrs. Mills know at brittany.mills2@knox.kyschools.us!!!
Our very first Biomedical Sciences Advisory Council meeting was held at Two Amigos on Tuesday, December 9th from 6:00-7:30 PM. Our students had a lot of great ideas for our council and the council offered great insight as well!
